Romo wallcoverings at Julia Clare

by Julia 22. July 2010 10:39

Just take a look at this gorgeous Romo wallcovering in what must be one of Surrey's most sumptuous cloakrooms.  The Romo Grandis Flock damask adds such a rich and decadentf eel to the area, and reflected against the silver tones of the mirror frame, it has worked really well in a small space where you wouldn't usually be so daring with pattern.

Romo wallcoverings are all available on line so if you are looking for something similar just look up Grandis Flock under the Romo wallcoverings section at Julia Clare and shop shop shop!

Romo Linara Fabrics best seller at Julia Clare

by Julia 15. July 2010 09:56

Well its official - Romo Linara fabric is the bestselling material in our on-line range! Not a great surpirse really - Linara fabric is so tactile you just want to be close to it, and if you also take account of the practicality aspects - it has a 36,000 rub test, comes in a standard or flame treated finish ready for upholstery and is washable at 40 degrees it just ticks every box.

It cant be just us who find this a winner of a fabric - the Romo Linara Fabric book is now on its third addition and in total offers approximately 250 colours, so a big cheer for Romo from us - our clients love Linara fabric and we look forward to book number four, five and six at least! Mix It Up

by Julia 5. July 2010 14:08

I was getting a little bored the other weekend so thought I would apply a bit of a makeover to the house. What is it they say about necessity being the mother of invention? Well the current economic climate has really made the make do and mend, handmade type style fashionable, and its just great fun to work with. Lots of colour, pattern and texture all mixed around, make it a really easy look to create.

I re-vamped a few old Ikea lampshades and cushion pads in a couple of hours - have a look and see what you think. You can get bags of fabric pieces from our workrooms, along with sample ribbons and trims but also have a look on line - there are masses of odd bits and pieces around. The possibilities are endless......... watch out for more on trend ideas soon.

Andrew Martin does it again!

by Julia 22. July 2009 10:03

I have just finished fitting the most amazing Andrew Martin window dressings. We used Andrew Martin Pushkin velvet in the Amethyst colour as a top curtain with a dark amethyst silk curtain underneath. With a little help from some massive crystal tie backs, we pulled the top curtain up into big voluminous balloon, leaving the working silk curtain underneath just peeping through,  and the hem puddling down on the floor. They just look amazing and we are going to be able to photograph them next month so watch this space for some great images!

This week.....

by Julia 6. July 2009 10:07

What an exciting week ahead! Willa is in with the new Autumn launch from Barbara Barry and Kravett Design. I cant wait as this is a personal favourite of mine!  Im looking forward to seeing lots of cut velvets and beautiful trimmings so we will update the site with the best of whats new later this week.

The contact sheets have arrived for a cinema room we photographed in London. We completed this project with our friends at Bang & Olufsen. I do love looking back over what we have completed - its like Grand Designs revisited! It was a real challenge with a star lit ceiling, a long base storage unit hung from the wall and underlit so it appeared to float off the floor, a bar, skirting lit floors and the biggest flat screen TV I have ever seen!  The accent colour was a deep Teal and looked amazing against the chocolate brown of the furniture. This was an interior you could just curl up in and loose yourself for days! As ever the guys at Bang & Olufsen did an amzing job of the AV installation and I think the clients children took over the room shortly after we left!

Finally on my things to do this week - I am trying to get ready for more curtain making courses here at Chiddingfold.  After the feedback from the radio show on Saturday, it looks like it could be busy this month!

Anyway - must run now but more updates later.....
